If you are reading this, you are probably looking to hire a pest control company to solve some sort of pest problem. We’ve put together these 7 tips for hiring a pest control company – whether it’s DA Exterminating or some other company. Just so you know, DA Exterminating meets ALL of these qualifications . . . but if you’re comparing companies, be sure to ask these questions.

1. Select three companies in your area by asking friends/relatives for referrals. This is the surest way to select companies that are trustworthy, effective and dependable.

2. Visit the companies’ websites. The website reflects the professionalism (or lack thereof) of the company. Read the website so you are familiar with the company. (http://www.daexterminating.com)

3. Call the companies you selected.

1. Does a person answer the phone or are you “greeted” by an automated receptionist? If a person answers, the company cares about their customers and is accessible if you need information.

2. When you do reach a member of the company’s staff, are they knowledgeable about their services or do they just take down your name and number only to have you wait for someone to call you back? These types of actions would indicate a poorly trained staff and should lead you to believe that you will encounter poor service in the future

4. Ask these questions:

  • Do technicians have current licenses?
  • Do they use Integrated Pest Management techniques?
  • Will they provide references for you to call?
  • Do they provide written estimates based on inspections?
  • Does the company require you to sign up for a long-term contract?
  • Does the company provide a guarantee for their work?
  • Do they have insurance to cover you, your property, and their employees?

1. Upon arrival at your home or business, is the technician driving a company vehicle?

1. Does the vehicle have permanent decals or do they just have a magnetic sign stuck on the side of the doors? This is important because it reflects the level of commitment to their profession. If they only have magnetic signs on their vehicle this may indicate that they are doing this part time or on the side for extra income and are not serious about their trade.

2. Note: Someone recently said they switched to DA Exterminating after seeing this beat up, dirty truck pull up to their house, gave a bad first impression.

2. Is the company representative in uniform? Not being in uniform reflects the company’s lack of focus on uniformity not only in appearance, but also in quality of work.

3. What is the appearance of their vehicles? Dirty, old, rundown vehicles indicate a lack of pride in work because when a vehicle is in bad condition, the equipment to treat your home is probably not any better.

Keep looking if…

  • They give a high pressure sales pitch.
  • They are in a hurry for you to sign a contract.
  • They cannot or will not answer your questions.
  • They want to treat your home before they inspect it.
  • They are not willing to provide references.

The Bottom Line LOOK NO FURTHER! CALL DA EXTERMINATING TODAY!
