SPIDERS
Spiders seem to be pervasive no matter where you live in the United States, Louisiana definitely included. There are many different types of spiders, some merely nuisances and some poisonous. Spider bites are always a threat and depending on the spider, can be dangerous. The following types of species are divided into poisonous and non-poisonous so you will be able to identify spiders in your home or business. No matter what spiders have made their way into your home or business, DA Exterminating will get rid of them.
NON-POISONOUS SPIDERS
House Spiders: This brown spider, most often found indoors, is no real threat but will spin webs inside under furniture, in window frames, in closets and most commonly in basements, sheds or garages.
Cellar Spiders: Also known as “daddy long-legs,” this spider appropriately has eight long, skinny legs and a very small body. They are very productive web spinners and are found in dark, damp areas like in cellars, basements as well as cabinets under sinks and window sills. You don’t have to worry about spider bites with daddy long-legs, even though their larger size might seem intimidating.

POISONOUS
Brown Recluse: Brown Recluses only live in two regions of the United States, and Louisiana is in one of them. These spiders can be very aggressive if encountered with a human and their bite is poisonous. They like to hide in clothing that is left on the floor or inside of shoes.
Black Widow: The Black Widow spider has a signature red hour glass shape on its back and hides in places where they will be undisturbed, especially in firewood which is the most common way they are transported indoors.
Once inside, they look for boxes or shoes to crawl into. A Black Widow spider bite is very painful and can cause a severe reaction in children and the elderly.
